This collection is the translation (from English into Persian) of fourteen short short stories. The seven stories presented in the first part of this anthology are by American authors and the other seven stories presented in the second part of this anthology are by authors from other parts of the world. The stories written by American authors are: "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place" by Ernest Hemingway; "Magic" by Katherine Anne Porter; "My Father Sits in the Dark" by Jerome Weidman; "The School" by Donald Barthelme; "Gravity" by David Leavitt; "Born Bad" by Sandra Cisneros; "Disappearing" by Monica Wood. The stories written by non-American authors are: "The Blue Bouquet" by Octavio Paz; "Is There Nowhere Else Where We Can Meet?" by Nadine Gordimer; "An Old Man" by Guy De Maupassant; "Never" by H. E. Bates; "The Laugher" by Heinrich Böll; "The Death-Mask" by Yasunari Kawabata; "In the Night" by Varlam Shalamov.
